Four-year-old Maria was brought to our Life Center by her father after battling a persistent fever for two weeks.

He had no way to pay for treatment, explaining that their family had nothing to eat at home because he had lost his work in the nearby crop fields. The recent monsoon floods have destroyed local crops, leaving him—and many others in their community—without work or pay for the foreseeable future.

Desperate to help his daughter, Maria’s father pleaded for assistance. Our medical team quickly performed the necessary tests and diagnosed her with typhoid fever. She was given the medication she needed, and we are relieved to share that Maria is now recovering and feeling better.

Her story is just one example of how the devastating floods have deepened hardship in vulnerable communities—destroying crops, cutting off livelihoods, and pushing families to the brink.

Thanks to your support, we can step in during these moments of crisis, providing medical care, food, and hope when families need it most.
